Some of the biggest earhquakes around the world.

The biggest earthquake ever happened in Chile in 1960, May 22nd. It killed nearly 5,000 people.It measured 9.5 on the Richter Scale. Some other big earthquakes happened in the world. In 2004 an earthquake hit the Indian sea on the 26th December. It measured 9.0 on the Richter Scale. 2,25,000 people were killed in eleven countries. There were waves up to 30 metres high. The most affected countries were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand.
